2009 Archery Deer Hunt Summary:
 At Alberta River Valley Lodge we started scouting for deer in July, we saw some good bucks on our trail cameras. Things were looking promising, as we countinued scouting though the month of august it looked even better! We were excited for the first bow hunters to arrive. Unfortunately, the season didn't open until September 8th and by the time the hunters got here the bucks had rubbed off the velvet, split up their groups and went nocturnal. Bowhunting didn't go as planned. A full moon and 90 degree weather didn't help. We killed a 182 inch mule deer and stuck a couple more. The hunting got better as the month went on, bucks were plentiful and the arrows were flying. It was a fun archery season

2009 Rifle Deer Hunt Summary:
 The rifle season opened on Nov 1 and we were fired up! We wanted to get after those deer that got away from us in September on the archery hunt. We killed 3 book whitetails and 3 150-160 class bucks and a couple more good mature whitetails it was a great year for the whitetail hunters.

The mule deer were everywhere and we were having a ball killing 178-188 class bucks. Our hunters harvested 8 of them and a couple bucks topped 190. There were 2 bucks over 200 inches that we just didn't capitalize on. It's not like the big fish that got away, those bucks will still be there for 2010 season! All in all it was a spectacular season so come join us in Alberta for your chance at some real trophies!

2009 Waterfowl Hunt Summary:
The waterfowl season opened on September 1, we were ready to rock and roll! The hunt was great the migration was a little slow do to 85 to 90 degree heat, but there were still thousands of birds. We killed a ton of specks! The ducks were later than normal, they came in October, but when they came, they were there by the thousands and thousands, it was anther great Alberta season!
